if you look for prepared effects, could do worse

I expected an app that allowed me to create the effects pictured. MATTER doesn’t. It’s a collection of prepared effects that you can apply but you cannot create your own effects in-app. Perhaps that’s the point: obtain from elsewhere pictures and effects and letter MATTER assemble them; MATTER doesn’t let you create, only mimic. Not what I was expecting given the description and pictures.
